Our trip was made wonderful because we had a kind and knowledgeable guide. His name is Dani. He is soft-spoken, very patient with us and is a great free-diver. We were very comfortable with him and his buddies on board the boat.
As we took a private boat, we could do the trip on our own time. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any Manta nor sea Turtles. That's alright as the colourful fishes and corals made up for it. The water can be rather choppy so if you are not a strong swimmer, do use a life-vest. Snorkeling isn't on very shallow water, so do be prepared for it. We were told by Dani tha the area around Nusa is undergoing coral restoration, so it will take a few more years for the corals to be back in full force with all the marine animals.
Lunch at GreenKubu was a treat because of the gorgeous view. The place is neat and pretty. Food was simple and tasty. There is a menu for us to choose from. Anything not from that menu or you want extra helping, you got to pay from your own pocket.
We visited Kelingking Beach. The main attraction at Penida. Yes, it is marvellous. But yeah, the crowd is a bummer. Can't be helped though I hope the government will look into doing better infrastructure for the Nusa islands to better manage visitors and importantly rubbish. We also went to Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach. They reminded me of the Grotto along Great Ocean Road.
On return trip, we did drift snorkeling. We wished it was longer 😊 and the bonus is that we got to see Mt Agung on the way back.
Thanks for having us on this trip!

Tour was as described but definitely exceeded our expectations - we stopped at 4 locations (1 extra location as we were heading back to Sanur) to snorkel and every single last one of them were beautiful and unreal. As someone who don’t know how to swim our guides have made me feel very safe. The land tour was beautiful as well. Only wish we had more time! (The tour length was just nice - We were so tired by the end of it but we just couldn’t get enough of the stunning island). Would definitely go again if we come back to Bali

Dani and Olog were great guides! We had a blast on our excursion because of their knowledge and humor on each point of the tour. They made sure we were always having a good time. While we missed out on the manta that day, we still had the best time snorkeling among the fish and coral and would come back and on this tour again.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The location was absolutely beautiful. however, there are few things to keep in mind….. the boat ride was very rough so brace yourself ! The boat was a typical boat so don’t expect a yatch but loved how they provided us towels and equipments. The first location for snorkeling (manta bay) was super crowded. If you are looking forward to that experience, be warned the water is very rocky so if you are prone to seasickness then you will get sick! I didn’t see any fish but my husband and others did so thats good. I did end up seeing a manta ray when we stopped at the beach. I wish throughout the trip our guide reminded us where we were going because we literally was all over the place and felt clueless. It was a very long trip but overall an amazing experience.

Unfortunately we only spotted one manta rays and hide away, and wasn't able to snorkel for long as the water wasn't calm which I know both are beyond the tours control. But big thanks for Dani for helping me out to snorkel as I do not know how to swim :). the land tour and view points were spectacular and perfect for photos!

Dani and the team who ran the trip were very friendly, organised and knowledgable. They made you feel welcome and did all they could to make sure you enjoyed yourself. We didn’t see any Manta rays but they tried their best, first stop is a bit choppy. Others sites are better although as we went during rainy season and there was a strong current.
Lunch stop was nice and land tour was interesting although there are a lot of other companies doing the same tour at the same time.
I would recommend this trip but you have to be prepared that you might not be lucky enough to see the manta rays.

We had a lovely day out on the boat with the friendly and attentive crew. We snorkelled with a manta ray. Saw many beautiful fish and the piece de résistance turtles! The crew took amazing go pro photos and videos to capture all of this for us. We had a lovely lunch on Nusa Penida and then a tour of the island, unfortunately the (torrential) rain came after lunch so the island tour wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been but it was still fun/funny! We stopped for more snorkelling on the way back. Half our party didn’t go out this time but they were disappointed afterwards because this is when we saw the turtles - highly recommend taking every opportunity. Thank you for a lovely day out. Great value for money and lovely people.
