Where do I begin… we were lucky: 8 manta rays swimming within 1-4 meters, 4-5 sea turtles, millions of bright coloured fish.. the water was so clear, even at high tide we could see deep colours.
We had a private boat tour on the water only with Sandy and the Sea Dragon team. I cannot express how good these guys were together supporting us. So fun, so generous, the BEST photography, their energy and service matched our every need.
To be honest, I thought Viator was selling this package in AUD when it was USD so ~1.5x what I thought it would cost. And yet.., every dollar was worth it.
Steps to have the best time in Nusa Penida:
1) go for the private boat option.. the group boats looked miserable in comparison. We had snacks and music and dancing and rooftop pillows to lounge on. We got to jump off the roof and see more unique and rare caves and non-tourist spots.
2) Ask for team tour guide SANDY and Captain Sandy on the Sea Dragon.
3) order the nasi goreng at lunch!
4) bring ciders/champagne, some cool beverages to sip on the way home!
5) wear LOTS of sunscreen or a rash vest. We were lobsters by the end of the day even with all the sunscreen in the world on us.

Our company went on this tour during our offsite and we were impressed! It was a great way to connect and explore with our team. The hosts on the tour were very kind and considerate. They even had meds for anyone who might be seasick! They were skilled and took us to great snorkeling spots where we so many fish, reefs, and sea turtles. Very well organized.

Our company went on this tour during our offsite and we were impressed! It was a great way to connect and explore with our team. The hosts on the tour were very kind and considerate. They even had meds for anyone who might be seasick! They were skilled and took us to great snorkeling spots where we so many fish, reefs, and sea turtles. Very well organized.

Amazing day with Morgan and Nemo!
I had such an amazing day with Morgan and Nemo! They were awesome guides who were so knowledgeable about the area and their true passion for the sea, snorkeling and exploring Nusa Penida showed. From the moment I showed up at our meeting spot, I could tell I was going to be taken care of all day. They made sure the whole group had everything they needed to enjoy the day. We stopped at 4 different snorkeling spots which were all great. We got to swim with manta rays and sea turtles! I loved that we also got to visit the island of Nusa Penida and explore the area by car and foot. We also lucked out with an awesome group. As a solo traveler it was fun to be with people from all over the world who were super friendly and fun to hang out with all day. All in all, a great day!

Choppy boat ride getting over to Nusa Penida from Nusa Dua, but it was an incredible all day private trip with a very knowledgeable and engaged crew. We got to swim with mantas, turtles, and even dolphins. The day would have been exciting no matter what, but it was certainly made a lot better by the crew. Shoutout to Dani, Captain Sandy, Kadek, and Indra. These guys were always on the lookout for things we should see. Highly recommend doing a private trip!

We were served by Kadek and Dena. Both of them were very professional and friendly. They ensured that the group stays together and also tirelessly found spots for us to snorkle. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves the ocean. It is beginner friendly too!

We had a fabulous day on our speedboat Sea Dragon with our guide Aldo. We were a family of 6 adults and Aldo, our Captain and crew did a great job looking after us. We did see some manta ray but this stop was very busy and Manta Point was quite choppy so some of us felt a little sea sick, Aldo had medicine to help. Our other planned stops in the morning were very choppy with strong currents so Aldo and Captain decided it was not safe to snorkel. We had a nice lunch at a Beach Club and spent about an hour relaxing there. After lunch the conditions were much improved and we did some drift snorkelling in the current over coral reefs. It was fantastic with hundreds of tropical fish and we also saw a sea turtle. It was a wonderful day and Aldo had a GoPro to take photos and videos of our adventure. Thank you Aldo and Sea Dragon!
